Saab GB assures buyers

23 June 2011

  • Saab GB employees will be paid
  • Business as usual at showrooms
  • Production in Sweden on hold

Saab Factory Trollhättan

Saab showrooms remain open and buyers can still place orders, and UK staff will be paid as normal, despite news that workers in Sweden won't receive their wages because of cash flow problems.

Saab GB has issued an official statement that says: 'Saab GB Ltd, distributor of Saab vehicles in the UK, is a separate legal entity to Saab Auto AV.

'Saab GB Ltd has paid, and continues to pay, all suppliers and employees on time'.

Production at Saab’s factory in Trollhattan, Sweden, is currently on hold. It was halted for most of April and May because of the firm’s financial problems. Production restarted in early June, but was once again put on hold and isn’t expected to commence again until July 4, at the earliest.

Production of the new 9-4X SUV in Mexico – which isn’t on sale in the UK yet - hasn’t been affected.
