The Motivo was well off the pace in almost every area. It felt cheap, the maps were poorly designed and the spoken instructions left a lot to be desired.

The cradle was particularly poor. It felt badly made and we found it difficult to lock in position.

That became a big problem when we plugged in the power lead, as it tugged on the side of the Motivo and pulled it away from the angle we'd set.

On a positive note, the system was quick to respond to inputs, and did come with an MP3 player and a photo viewer.

As a navigator, though, the Motivo was the worst on test. It was the only unit in the budget to get us reaching for the trusty A-Z.
