Road Angel Navigator 9000
Best Price £387.74 (Handtec.co.uk)
For No need to download updates from your PC .
Against Expensive, and not one of the best navigators.
Verdict Worth a look if you don't have a PC to perform updates.
At this price, you're probably thinking the Navigator 9000 should not only tell you which way to go, but also take care of the driving.
Well, it won't, but it does have something special up its sleeve - built-in GPRS (General Packet Radio Service).
That means you won't need to connect it to a PC to download map and speed camera updates.
The downside is that downloads aren't free, and a subscription costs £6 a month.
If you haven't got a PC, or haven't the time to download updates every so often, the Navigator 9000 makes a good case for itself.
Otherwise, there are plenty of better sat-navs out there that cost a lot less.
The software is shared with the Binatone units, and while we found the menus straightforward, the maps weren't particularly easy to follow.
The flimsy connection between the cradle and sat-nav didn't fill us with confidence, either.
