For Ultra-quick, easy to use and fine map designs.
Against Cradle could be better.
Verdict Super quick, easy to use and a great navigator.
The lightweight, compact C220 was probably the simplest of all the sat-navs we tested to use, and flicking through its menus took hardly any time at all.
In 3D mode, the maps provided plenty of detail and the software automatically zoomed in when a change in direction was imminent. We found that very useful - especially in built-up areas.
The Mio - along with the TomTom and Clarion - was the best at keeping up with the car's progress.
Although not all the Mia's instructions were necessary, they were clear and provided more detail than the TomTom.
The cradle was a bit on the large side and could have been easier to set up. Once adjusted, though, it was sturdy and didn't transmit vibrations from the road.
One thing that did frustrate us, though, was the need to hold the power button for 10 seconds every time we wanted to turn the unit on.
