Top three salesman one-liners to look out for

1 ‘That price is only valid today…’
Salesmen say this because they want you to commit before leaving the showroom. The only time this may be true is at the end of the month or quarter.

2 ‘I'll have to speak to my sales manager…’
You think the salesman is sticking his neck out to help you, but he’s well aware of the profit margins. If this happens, ask if you can speak to the manager directly.’

3 ‘The repayments will be this much a week…'
You multiply the figure by four and get the monthly repayment, right? Wrong. There are 4.3 weeks in a financial month, so you’ll end up paying more than you thought.
