Seat's Leon Cupra R hot hatch will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

The sporty Leon will be powered by the same 265bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that's already in the Audi S3, and will be front-wheel drive.

After the Cupra R, we can expect an estate version of the Ibiza supermini in 2010. Seat prefers to use the word 'notchback' when describing the car's rear-end, suggesting that the boot will be more sharply sloping than traditional estates.

The Seat Alhambra MPV has been around for more than a decade, but a replacement is expected to go on sale in the UK in 2011.

A tiny citycar, based on the forthcoming Volkswagen Up, is also likely for 2011 or 2012.
