Initially only available with a 167bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel, the Altea FR costs from £17,795. The engine powers the car from 0-62mph in 8.6seconds and on to a top speed of 130mph.

A 197bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine will be on sale from June, although prices have yet to be confirmed. The petrol FR has a 0-62mph time of 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 146mph.

For your money, you'll receive goodies such as climate control, stability control and electric windows.

Bolstered seats, twin chrome exhaust pipes, silver door mirrors and 17-inch alloy wheels set the FR apart from the rest of the Altea range.
