Seat will unveil this Tribu 4x4 concept at this year's Frankfurt motor show.
Although Seat officials have refused to comment on the vehicle, it is understood that the car is the work of former Lamborghini designer Luc Donckerwolke.
Features include windscreen that extends over the passenger compartment to create a huge panoramic roof, rear headlights that are positioned behind the windscreen, so they are only visible when lit, and 20-inch chrome wheels.
Three driving options, which change the engine and suspension settings, are available: Urban, Sport and Freerun. They are for city, motorway and track driving respectively.
The driver and three passengers have sporty bucket seats with built-in seatbelts.
Insiders suggest that the concept could go into production in modified form, with the focus on on-road driving. The new vehicle is expected to be based on the VW Tiguan and rival Toyota's RAV4 and Honda's CR-V.
Seat has described the Tribu as heralding the advent of a new wave of Seat models.
