Seat plans to build a new family car to rival the Ford Mondeo.
Saloon and estate versions will be built, and they'll reach British showrooms in 2009.
Seat hasn't confirmed what the new model will be called, but it did say that its other family car, the Toledo, will be sold alongside the new model.
Expect the newcome to be very distinct from the Toledo and the rest of the Seat range. Part of the Toledo's struggle to attract buyers rests with the fact that it is too similar in size and shape to the Altea and Altea XL.
The company may reveal a concept version of the car. Its Altea Freetrack 4x4 concept car was at this year's Geneva Motor Show ahead of the production version, which goes on sale here in September.
