Not only is the new
Yaris bigger than before, but Toyota claims the interior offers 30% more space than the old model.
The pedals have been moved forward to ensure a more comfortable driving position for taller motorists, and there is more legroom in the rear, too.
The rear bench is split 60/40, and the seats can independently slide forward and back by up to 150mm, and also be reclined. Toyota’s impressive new Easy-Flat folding seat system is also fitted.
By pulling one handle, the seats tip and fold in one go, with no need to flip up seat squabs or remove the head rests. This applies even when the front seats are in their rearmost position.
The engine range will consist of a 68bhp 1.0-litre and 86bhp 1.3-litre petrol, plus a 89bhp 1.4-litre diesel.
Euro NCAP awarded the car five stars for occupant protection, and three stars in the pedestrian impact tests, too.
