September debut for Volvo V40 R-Design

The Volvo V40 R-Design a sporty looking version of Volvo's premium small car is expected to be unveiled at the Paris motor show in September.

Volvo has already announced prices and details of the ES, SE and SE Lux trims, but an R-Design version was a notable omission. R-Design Volvos are comparable with S line in Audi cars and M Sport for BMW.

R-Design V40s are expected to have a sportier look and feel than the rest of the range, and Sports suspension will come as standard (it's currently an option on ES, SE and SE Lux cars).

Prices for the standard V40 start at 19,745, with climate control, Bluetooth and City Safety standard across the range, and all D2 models have CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km.

The Volvo V40 is available to order now, with deliveries expected from September. Private buyers will have their first chance to drive the car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motorshow, which starts on June 28.
