Renault Twizy review
I haven't driven the Twizy for a while - in fact, not since the 'windows' were added. I must admit that the commute from Teddington to Bromley (about 20 miles) was much more comfortable than during last winter. There's no freezing wind, but a slight draft providing fresh air. The zips that open the windows have seen better days, though - on one side, the zip has come loose from the teeth, leaving a permanent gap.
The only problem I found with the windows is the visible distortion it causes across the side mirrors. Number plates aren't clear to read, and you have to glance twice to see details behind you.
The overall range has improved - or rather, the estimated range from a full charge has improved. Charging the Twizy is still a problem at my house, though. I live in an upstairs flat, above my garage, in which there's only one power socket.
One tip for the uninitiated: don't charge an electric car from the same ring-main as a running tumble dryer. The Twizy tripped out all the sockets in my flat, but it could have been worse.
