Service savings on your doorstep - How we got our quotes

We asked for quotes on four cars of varying age - a Skoda Fabia, Ford Focus, Mazda 6 and Citroen Picasso.

Of course, no one wants to drive the length of the country to save a few quid. That's why we also limited our searches to a 20-mile radius around locations in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Glasgow.

Most of the savings were much closer to the centre of each search area than the perimeter, which proves savings are just around the corner.
