Lexus will unveil a concept car to rival the BMW 1 Series at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
Only a sketch has been released so far, but Lexus says that the concept car will 'demonstrate a mix of technical innovation and ground-breaking design'.
Further details will be announced closer to the show, which opens on September 14.
Toyota at Frankfurt motor show
A hybrid-powered Auris will be revealed by Lexus's parent company, Toyota, at the Frankfurt motor show.
The new hybrid will be built at Toyota's Burnaston factory in Derbyshire.
Toyota will also be revealing a new Land Cruiser 4x4 and a plug-in Prius hybrid.
