Skoda's hot new Fabia vRS will cost from £15,700 for the five-door hatch and £16,495 for the estate when it goes on sale at the end of July.
The vRS is powered by a turbo- and super-charged 1.4-litre petrol engine developing 180bhp – and is fitted with the seven-speed DSG auto gearbox as standard.
Both hatch and estate hit 62mph from rest in just 7.3 seconds, while top speed is 139mph for the hatch and 140mph for the estate, while average fuel consumption is 45.6mph for both cars, and CO2 emissions for the hatch and estate are also identical at 148g/km
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, LED running lights and a sporty bodykit. Steering-wheel mounted paddles for the DSG gearbox are also fitted to every car, along with an alarm, traction and stability controls, air-conditioning and sports suspension.
