Skoda will launch its Yeti 4x4 in 2009.
The car's styling will be based on the Yeti concept car, which was first seen at the Geneva motor show in 2005.
It will share underpinnings with the new Volkswagen Tiguan and is expected to use parts from other VW group vehicles, which includes Audi and Seat, in an effort to reduce costs.
The VW Group is also expected to give the go-ahead for production of the Seat Tribu, which was shown at the Frankfurt motor show this year.
The Tribu is also expected to go on sale in 2009.
No news has been released on the engine line-up or prices of either vehicle.
