Skoda will expand its model range to five this autumn with the arrival of the Yeti, its brilliantly named new SUV. Two- and four-wheel-drive versions will be available, starting at around £14,000.
Yeti is based on the Octavia Scout, but has shorter front and rear overhangs, a taller roofline and a higher driving position. The fully flexible five-seat interior comes from the Roomster, Skoda's compact MPV, but the Yeti's cabin is wider, creating more passenger space. Trim quality shows a distinct step upmarket, too.
Skoda will be pitching it at the Nissan Qashqai as well as top-selling compact SUV's such as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
