Smart is throwing its weight behind an all-new version of it's Fortwo city car, shown here in a computer-generated image.
Smart only now sells the Fortwo since the Forfour and Roadster were axed, but the new car is expected here in the UK next year and is also likely to launch the brand in the US.
Success for the car is crucial to the survival of Smart which investors have in the past advised owners DaimlerChrysler to scrap.
DaimlerChrysler hopes cutting back on the number of models on offer, and ditching other plans for a small off-roader, will help Smart to post its first ever profit in the next 18 months.
