Jaguar XF

The XF represents the future look of Jaguar - and it's the replacement for the S-type. The new car is steel-bodied, but with some aluminium panels, and engines will include a new 230bhp version of the 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel and a 350bhp 5.0-litre V8.

Mercedes C-Class
On sale July
Price £23,500
Mercedes says its new C-Class will be roomier, and will have a sharper drive. An S-Class-style instrument binnacle is part of a brief designed to lend the new C-Class a more youthful interior.
