The big selling point in the seven-seat C4 Picasso, Citroen says, is the sheer amount of light inside - it's got a panoramic windscreen and the largest sunroof in its class (although the latter is optional). Engines include 1.8- and 2.0-litre petrols and 1.6- and 2.0-litre diesels. A six-speed paddle-shift gearbox will be available, too.

Ford C-Max

The C-Max drops the Focus bit of its name from summer next year and adopts the same looks as the S-Max seven-seater. The C-Max will still only seat five, but Ford promises big improvements in its cabin.
