Stretched 300C

Long-wheelbase versions of the imposing Chrysler 300C Saloon and Touring estate will be revealed at the New York Motor Show in April, and they may soon appear in the UK.

The stretched 300C's wheelbase is 152mm longer, all of which is used to enhance rear legroom. It will be sold in the US from this autumn with the 250bhp 3.5-litre V6 and 335bhp 5.7-litre V8 petrol engines already found in the standard car. If they arrive in the UK too, they're sure to also be available with the 215bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel.

Chrysler says the added length of the stretched cars provides rear-seat passengers with nearly 1200mm of legroom.

Customers will be able to order the cars with a host of personalised features, including lit writing tables, footrests and directional reading lights.

The standard-wheelbase 300C Touring will also hit the UK in April. The 3.0-litre diesel and 3.5-litre petrol are £1500 more than the saloon at £27,250, while the 5.7-litre V8 petrol is £1250 more expensive at £34,245.
