Subaru has cut the price of its Impreza WRX and is offering free performance upgrades until the end of the June.

A £680 reduction brings the price of the entry-level WRX to £18,995. All WRX and WRX STI buyers also get the Prodrive Performance Pack and new 18-inch alloys, together worth £3200, for free.

The performance pack reconfigures the engine’s computer and adds a high-flow sports exhaust, cutting the WRX acceleration time from 6.5sec to 5.9sec and the STI's sprint from 5.2sec to 4.8sec.

Impreza saloon to return?
International Motors, the UK importers of Subaru, now has one of the saloon versions of the STI unveiled at the recent New York Motor show in this country for evaluation.

It still hasn't made a decision on whether to import the saloon to the UK, however.
