All three have more aggressive styling and a wider track, front and rear, for sportier handling. One also has a massive rear wing to improve downforce.
The standard wide-bodied saloon and hatch use a 261bhp version of Subaru’s 2.5-litre boxer engine, while the winged STI uses a 301bhp engine – slightly more than the 296bhp of the UK STI.
What we still don't know is whether the saloon version of the car is coming to our shores. UK importer International Motors is currently deciding whether or not to bring it here.
Subaru doesn't have detailed performance figures for the winged STI, but says the car will comfortably manage 0-62mph in just over five seconds.
Cosworth Impreza STI CS400
If that's not fast enough for you, Subaru has just confirmed that the Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 will go on sale in June.
The car will have bespoke brakes developed by AP Racing, which supplies several teams in Formula One and the World Rally Championship.
At the same time, the suspension and exhaust have also been upgraded, as have the car's looks inside and out.
Production of the car is limited to just 75 units, and full details of the price and technical specification will be confirmed nearer the on-sale date.
