The new Subaru Justy is on sale now for £8495.
Based on the Daihatsu Sirion, the Justy is powered by a 68bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. It records an average of 56.5mpg and emits 118g/km of carbon dioxide.
That economy puts it in the £35-a-year VED road tax band and will make it free from London's Congestion Charge if current proposals are given the go-ahead for February 4, 2008.
Standard equipment includes anti-lock brakes, six airbags, alloy wheels, air-con, a CD player, four electric windows, reversing sensors, central locking and an alarm.
It also comes with a five-year/60,000-mile mechanical warranty and five years UK and European roadside assistance cover.
1000 Justys are destined for the UK in 2008.
