Subaru is launching a limited-edition Impreza WRX to mark the end of the car's production as a saloon and estate.

With an all-new, five-door-only Impreza due in the autumn, Impreza fans can get their hands on the last of the current cars, named GB270.

There will be 300 saloon models and 100 estates, and both will cost £22,995. They feature around £7000-worth of added equipment, but only cost £2898 (saloon) and £1898 (estate) more than the standard WRX.

Each car has a 266bhp Prodrive Perfomance Pack, which boosts power by 39bhp over the standard car and pulling power by 74lb ft to 310lb ft.

That gives the car a 0-60mph time of 5.3sec, which beats the standard WRX by half a second.

Standard equipment includes lowered suspension, quickshift gearchange, 18-inch alloy wheels, GB270 exterior badging and an individually numbered interior plaque.

Saloon cars also have a WRC-style rear spoiler, stainless steel mesh front grille, STI lip spoiler and silver-finished alloy wheels.

Estate versions have a rear waist spoiler, rear privacy glass, black stainless-steel front grille and gloss black alloy wheels.
