Exchange rate fluctuations have prompted Subaru to raise the price of its diesel cars by £1000 and its Impreza STi model by £1500.
The innovative horizontally-opposed diesel was launched to acclaim earlier this year, and is available in the Legacy Sports Tourer and Outback. The Impreza STi went on sale in March.
The price increases represent price increases of between 5-6%.
It's not known whether the prices of other Subaru models will also be raised, or whether other Japanese manufacturers will follow suit.
