Subaru has released prices for its new Impreza range and unsurprisingly, they've all gone up.
The entry-level 2.0R costs £16,200, £800 more expensive than the outgoing GX.
For that you get a 157bhp engine instead of a 125bhp unit.
The most popular model in the line up, the WRX, now costs from £20,900 – a £600
increase over its predecessor. Engine size increases from 2.0 to 2.5 litres while
output is up from 222bhp to 227bhp.
Top-of-the-range is still the WRX STi. It's up £595 to £26,995, but power is up
15bhp to 277bhp.
See the tables below for a full run down on the performance improvements and
running cost increases over outgoing models.
Subaru says it will introduce subtle new versions of the WRX STi called the Spec-D
(for discreet) early next year. Priced at the same level as standard STi cars, Spec-D
versions will do without the spoilers and gold wheels of their siblings and come with
leather upholstery and satellite-navigation instead.
Initially only 300 Spec-D models will be offered, but it will probably become a permanent
addition to the range. It's also likely to be the first car to receive even more powerful
engine options, although details on when these faster cars will be available, and how
much they will cost, have yet to be announced.
Figures for outgoing models are in brackets.
