The survey was conducted by YouGov in conjunction with British Airport Authorities. It highlights the most stressful airport parking experiences as the difficulty in finding a space, fitting into spaces and trying to remember where you parked.

Almost half of respondents said that showing where free spaces were would substantially reduce the stress of airport parking, while 42% said that being able to know how many spaces are available on each level of a car park would help.

Whatcar.com's in-depth summer motoring guide covers stress-busting tips on everything from preparation before embarking on a long journey, games and gadgets to help while away a trip, and tips to ensure your journey is as relaxing and pleasant as possible.

Log on next week and make sure you read our guide before setting off on holiday this summer.
