Other SUVs - part 2

Here's how other SUVs rated in this year's JD Power Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Survey. You can also take a look at our 'in focus' analysis of this particular sector.

7 Nissan Qashqai
Satisfaction rating 81.1%
Overall 36th=

The most positive remarks concerned the affordable fuel, insurance and repair bills. Owners also reported few mechanical problems.

They also said the heater was too slow to warm up and didnt like the fact that the ventilation fan was noisy.

8 Land Rover Range Rover Sport
Satisfaction rating 80.2%
Overall 43rd=

Owners think their cars look great from the outside and good inside, as well as being appealing to drive.

All ownership costs scored well below average and there were complaints about tyre wear and abnormal noises.

9 Land Rover Freelander
Satisfaction rating 79.5%
Overall 61st

Once again, complaints about running costs and below-par-service afflict the Freelander.
Fuel consumption came in for particular criticism. Otherwise, owners were generally happy.

10 BMW X5
Satisfaction rating 78.8%
Overall 69th=

The X5 is the lowest-placed BMW in the whole survey and no wonder given the catalogue of mechanical, interior and exterior problems. There was also widespread dissatisfaction with the fuel, repair and insurance costs.

Sinner: Suzuki SX4
11 Suzuki SX4
Satisfaction rating 75.0%
Overall 105th

Owners arent short of things to criticise about the SX4. Gripes include windows that fog up, remote central locking problems, materials that scuff, wipers and indicators that wont work, paint imperfections, noisy and shuddering brakes, uneven tyre wear, interior light problems and noisy ventilation fans.

The SX4 is at the budget end of this market, but owners arent even happy with their running costs, or the price of servicing. Little wonder its fourth from bottom overall.
