Suzuki SX4 gets second diesel option

05 November 2007

Suzuki has added a second, smaller diesel engine option to its SX4 range.

The Peugeot-sourced 87bhp 1.6-litre engine is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox, and can power the SX4 1.6 DDiS from 0-62mph in 12.2sec, with a top speed of 109mph.

It's also capable of an average of 53.3mpg, with carbon dioxide emissions of 139g/km.

The car is available in two-wheel drive only. Equipment levels are similar to those in the 1.6-litre petrol-engined version, but has manual air-conditioning, heated door mirrors, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, front foglights and wheelarch extensions.

The SX4 1.6 DDiS is on sale now, priced at £11,999.

Compared to the other diesel in the range, the 120bhp 1.9 DDiS model, it's £800 cheaper, has lower carbon dioxide emissions and better fuel economy (208g/km and 44.8mpg in the 1.9 DDiS).
