The next-generation Mercedes CLK coupe and cabriolet aren't expected to arrive until 2008, but our expert artists have already brought them to life in these computer-generated images.
The twin headlights of the current model are expected to be replaced with larger single unit designs, a theme that has already been introduced on other recent launches, such as the A- and B-Class.
Like these models, the new four-seater coupe and drop-top are also tipped to have a dramatic crease along the side of the body.
Mercedes has already confirmed that it will stick with a cloth roof on its four-seater convertible, leaving folding tin-top designs for its SL and SLK two-seaters.
Audi also says its next-generation A4 Cabriolet will be a soft top when it arrives sometime around 2009, although BMW is tipped to use a folding metal roof on the 3 Series convertible in 2007 (click on 'More pictures' on the right for other computer-generated images of the BMW).
With launch still some way off, there's no official indication of pricing for the new CLK, but we wouldn't expect to get behind the wheel of the new cars for less than £30,000.
