Tesla: John o'Groats to Land's End
Tesla has teamed up with 10 hotels across Scotland and England and a charity called Zero Carbon World to install charging stations along a route the length of Britain.
Zero Carbon World's founder, Kevin Sharpe, and EV expert David Peilow will set off in Sharpe's Tesla from John o'Groats at 9am tomorrow and hope to arrive in Land's End by Sunday evening.
David Peilow said: 'After previously crossing the country on a single charge in a Tesla Roadster, I realised that national coverage would require surprisingly few charge stations.
'I worked out the minimum number of sites for all of Britain to be reached, and found locations where drivers would be keen to stop and recharge. Once the benefits of hosting an EV charger were explained, most sites jumped at the chance to have one.'
The pair will follow this route:
Macdonald Aviemore Resort
Dalmahoy Marriott Hotel and Country Club
Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham
The Nottingham Belfry - Q Hotel
The Arden Hotel and Leisure Club, Bickenhill, Solihull
The Castle Hotel at Taunton
