The £109,000 Corvette

25 September 2008

General Motors has announced a price that's as eye-watering as the performance levels of its 206mph Corvette ZR1 - £109,000.

Powered by a 638bhp 6.2-litre V8 there's no denying the car is fast, although its price-tag will put it head-to-head with more exotic supercar machinery.

However, it will have rarity value – only two cars will be brought to the UK this year, fewer than 10 next year and never more than 20.

Buyers will also receive advanced driver training, a three-year/60,000 mile warranty and three years’ roadside assistance.

Oh, and if you can face the logistics of importing a car you might also be tempted by the ZR1's asking price in the USA - $105,000 or around £60,000.
