Terminal 5's car park is exciting. No, really

Okay, so it's not as exciting as the iPhone or PS3, but the short-stay car park at Heathrow's Terminal 5 will feature a range of technical innovations that could excite even the weariest of world travellers.

When the new terminal opens in March, special features are designed to take the stress out of parking at one of the world's busiest airports.

Bay Monitoring
Each parking space will be fitted with a sensor-led system and a green light above the bay that indicates when the space is available.

Pre-booked passengers
Automatic number plate recognition technology will ensure that drivers who have pre-booked will be given swift entry and exit to the car park.

Car finder
As it says on the tin... This helps you find your car in the car park. Insert your ticket into the kiosk and number plate recognition technology and CCTV will combine to identify where your car is parked.
