Subaru has at last revealed its Impreza WRX STi performance car.
The hot Impreza has flared wheelarches, big bumpers, a new grille, rear spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels, marking it out from the workaday 1.5 and 2.0 five-door hatch released earlier this year.
The four-wheel drive 2.5-litre car (a 2.0-litre version is already available in Japan) features Driver’s Control Center Differential (DCCD) that enables the driver to control the flow of power to the rear wheels depending on road conditions or how agile the driver wants the car to feel.
There’s also Vehicle Dynamics Control (you guessed it – VDC) which controls the anti-lock brakes and traction control (they can only be switched off in an emergency when the car’s stuck in snow or mud).
The interior features silver detailing, Recaro seats, navigation system, red LED lights on the door sills and an upshift light. Keyless entry and go should also make it to the UK.
The car goes on sale here next March, with prices expected to start at around £25,000.
A slightly less powerful WRX Impreza goes on sale next month for £19,995.
