Suzuki's designers clearly have more active imaginations than most, their collection of concept vehicles at this year's Tokyo motor show reaching new corners of bizarreness.
X-HeadFirst up, it's the unusual X-Head concept car, which Suzuki says the X-Head draws its ancestry from a mix of existing cars.
It has 'the rough-road performance and toughness of the Jimny and Grand Vitara and the load-carrying capability of the Carry', it says, and is 'the epitome of functional dependability and fun'.
Part of its versatility is the different modules that can be attached to its loadbay.
You can fit a unit called Camper to it, which allows two adults to sleep in comfort, or there's another module called Fashion, which 'provides stylish urban mobility', according to Suzuki.
Also, there's a third unit, known as Rescue, which is designed for rescue operations in a wide range of road conditions.
PaletteIn addition, Suzuki has produced the Palette, a 'minicar aimed at parents who cherish time with their children and at youngsters who like having fun with their friends'.
The Palette has room for four people, electrically operated sliding side doors, and a low, flat floor to allow 'diverse lifestyle situations'.
PIXY and SSCTwo more outlandish concepts are the PIXY, a three-wheeled, electric-powered single-seater, and the Suzuki Sharing Coach (SSC), which is a fuel cell-powered minicar that seats two. The SSC is designed to carry two PIXYs.
There's also a PIXY-carrying boat called SSJ, and a single-seater racing car that can also carry a PIXY, called the SSF.
