Toyota Auris Touring Sports revealed

- Estate version of Auris hatchback
- Will be offered in hybrid form

This is the Toyota Auris Touring Sports – the car maker's estate version of its Auris hatchback – that has just been revealed at the 2012 Paris motor show.
The Touring Sports version – a rival to the likes of the Ford Focus Estate, Hyundai i30 Tourer and Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer – has the same wheelbase as the hatchback, but its overall length is 285mm longer.
The extended roofline features a sloping rear screen, aluminium roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler. The loading lip is 80mm lower than the hatchback's for added practicality, while the loadbay is more than 750mm deeper than its sibling's.
This is the first time that the Auris has been produced in estate form. The Auris Touring Sports will also be the first estate car in its category to be offered with a full hybrid powertrain alongside conventional petrol and diesel versions.

Engine options will include 1.3- and 1.6-litre petrols, a choice of 1.4-litre and 2.0-litre diesel engines and a 1.8-litre full hybrid powertrain with standard CVT automatic transmission.
Toyota says it expects a five-star Euro NCAP rating for the Auris Touring Sports, thanks to the inclusion of stability control, brake assist and seven airbags.
The Toyota Auris Touring Sports will go on sale in 2013.
