Toyota Hilux updated
The makeover includes a new-look front end, with fresh headlights, bumper, bonnet and grille. There are new wheel designs, too, and top-of-the-range models have new side bars and steps.
Inside, there’s a new dashboard design and horizontal instrument cluster. Fresh materials, including darker plastics and chrome surrounds for the instruments on top-spec models, are aimed at giving a classier ambience.
Toyota’s Touch multimedia unit – which incorporates a full-colour touch-screen, Bluetooth and a USB port – is fitted to all but entry-level double cab models.
As before, there are 2.5- and 3.0-litre D-4D diesel engines. Thanks to the addition of a diesel particulate filter and efficiency improvements, all now comply with Euro V emissions standards. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are more than 10% better, too.
Prices for double cab models start at £17,790 for the 2.5 HL2 4WD and rise to £21,490 for the 3.0 Invincible 4WD automatic. The updated Hilux goes on sale in October.
