Toyota recalls iQ city cars

An estimated 12,500 Toyota iQ city cars are being recalled in the UK, in order to rectify a potential problem with the steering.

The action is part of a worldwide recall of 135,000 cars by Toyota. It was made when it was discovered that power steering sensors could malfunction when driving over bumps, making steering more heavy,

However, there have only been 37 reported incidences of this happening, all in Japan. None have led to any accidents.

Toyota iQ owners will be contacted by Toyota regarding the recall, or they can call their local dealership for further information.

The incident is the latest blow for Toyota, which has issued a series of recalls this year.
