Toyota's high-power Hilux

14 April 2008

Toyota is producing a limited-edition higher-powered version of its Hilux pick-up.

The car is powered by the same 3.0-litre D-4D engine in the Hilux Invincible, but has 194bhp instead of the standard 169bhp. Pulling power has increased from 253lb ft to 317lb ft.

As a result, the 0-62mph time has fallen from 13.0sec to 10.5sec.

Other features include 15-inch alloy wheels, a two-tone leather interior and heated front seats.

Just 500 of the high-powered cars will be available in the UK when the car goes on sale next month, with prices yet to be finalised.
