Two trims become one for Golf

Volkswagen's Golf small family car has a new trim called GT Sport.
Named GT Sport, the new trim is an amalgam of two existing trims, GT and Sport.
GT Sport cars cost from £17,422 with the 138bhp version of the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine. That makes it £1220 more expensive than the previous Sport trim, but £900 cheaper than a GT car.
Equipment levels are higher than each of the previous trims, with stability control, six airbags, air-conditioning, a CD stereo, electric windows, automatic headlights and wipers, and 17-inch alloy wheels all standard.
The grille and headlight surrounds of the car have been darkened to create a visual association with the GT Sport and its sportier Golf siblings, the GTI and R32.
