Kia’s Sorento now has new engines, and all for the same price as before.
The entry-level 2.5-litre turbodiesel still costs from £19,995, but is 21% more powerful at 168bhp.
That's enough to cut 2.6sec off the 0-62mph time which now stands at 12sec, although combined fuel consumption increases 1mpg to 35.8mpg
The 3.5-litre petrol V6 will be replaced by a new 3.3-litre unit in early 2007. It produces an extra 48bhp and will get the Sorento to 60mph 1.3sec quicker at 8.9sec. No fuel consumption figures are yet available.
The diesel comes with either manual or automatic gearboxes, while the petrol is only fitted with the automatic transmission.
The new Sorento has modified front and rear lights, while upgraded materials are used in the cabin.
