Upgraded Mazda 5 available now

Mazda has treated its MPV to a few tweaks and a mid-life facelift.

Buyers of the 5 now have the choice of nine models (starting from 14,760 - a 230 increase) and eight exterior colours.

The makeover features redesigned front and rear lights, modified bumpers, a new front grille and fresh sets of alloy wheels.

It's not just the looks that have been updated, though - the engines have been tweaked to offer improved fuel economy and lower emissions. All versions now drop a tax band, so you'll be paying less on tax as well as on fuel.

Buyers also now have the option of an auto gearbox (on the 2.0 petrol TS2) as well as electric sliding doors.

TS models come with anti-lock brakes, six airbags, remote locking, electric front windows, air-conditioning, a CD player and seats for up to seven.

A TS2 badge bumps the price up by 700, but it comes with alloy wheels, four electric windows, adjustable lumbar support for the driver, picnic tables and integrated roof rails.

'Sport' and 'Nav' trim now come with a styling pack as standard, which features bolder styling and 17-inch alloy wheels. They also get stability control, front foglights, privacy glass, cruise control, automatic lights, rain-sensing wipers, climate control, a six-disc CD autochanger, built-in Bluetooth connectivity and an extra two speakers for the stereo.

'Nav' models also get a sat-nav system with a seven-inch touch screen and a rear-view parking camera built in.
