Anyone in the market for a family-friendly used SUV should have the Peugeot 3008 on their list.
Prices of the former What Car? Car of the Year winner are looking very tempting, with early petrol models less than £7000 on the used market.
You can spend as little as £8200 for a decent diesel example, with its superior fuel economy and torque.
Our favourite model is the 1.6 THP Active for its smooth power delivery, impressive equipment list. It also has better ride and handling than lesser 3008s thanks to its standard Dynamic Roll Control.
Diesel models were expensive new, but have taken a considerable value hit after a few years of use. Consider one if you're planning more than just the school and shopping run.
There are some reliability issues with the 3008. Watch out for problematic sat-nav units, clogged particulate filters on diesel models, faulty electronic parking brakes, broken seatbelt adjusters and loose rear windows.
Our reviews are based on hard data and thorough testing in the real world.
