Insurer Direct Line says its customers will no longer lose their no-claims discount just because their car has been vandalised.
According to the Home Office, almost two million cars are damaged by vandals each year, with those left ungaraged or parked on the road most at risk.
Customers whose cars are vandalised will still have to report the vandalism to the police and obtain a crime number before Direct Line will handle the claim, and they will still have to pay the policy excess.
The concession applies to new customers as well as to existing ones.
