Vauxhall's Agila will cost from £7595 when it goes on sale in April 2008.
The supermini is powered by 62bhp 1.0-litre and 82bhp 1.2-litre petrol engines and a 72bhp 1.3 diesel unit.
The higher-powered petrol engine is available with automatic transmission.
Carbon dioxide emissions of the lower-powered petrol and diesel units are 120g/km, making the car eligible for VED road tax band B, which costs £35 a year.
The higher-powered petrol engine falls into VED road tax band C and will cost £115 a year to tax.
The car will be available in three trim levels.
The Agila shares its parts with the Suzuki Splash, which goes on sale next March.
Suzuki has yet to announce prices for the Splash.
