Vauxhall has launched a special-edition Astra VXR, called the Nurburgring.

The car's mechanicals are identical to the standard VXR's, with the 237bhp 2.0-litre engine powering the car from 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph.

A sports exhaust, tinted windows, carbonfibre detailing on the door mirrors and chequered flag graphics on the bodywork distinguish the Nurburgring from the standard VXR.

It also has all-white paint, lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels and bespoke Dunlop tyres.

The Astra VXR Nurburgring, which takes its name from the famous German grand prix circuit where the base car was developed, costs from £20,995.
