Vauxhall is replacing its Monaro with a new muscle car, the VXR8.
The VXR8 is based on a powerful Holden model from Australia (the HSV Clubsport R8), and goes on sale in July for £34,995.
It still uses the 6.0-litre V8 found in the outgoing Monaro VXR, but its output is up from 398bhp to 414bhp, enough for a 0-60mph time of 4.9sec - half a second quicker than the Monaro.
It's not all about power, however, with climate control and leather upholstery as standard features. Traction and stability control are also fitted, while an automatic gearbox is an option for the first time at £1400.
Our reviews are based on hard data and thorough testing in the real world.
