Volkswagen Beetle Fender announced

20 December 2012

  • VW Beetle Fender limited edition revealed
  • Created in conjunction with guitar manufacturer
  • Order books open January 2, price is £23,015

Volkswagen Beetle Fender edition

The music-inspired Volkswagen Beetle Fender edition has been revealed ahead of its on-sale date at the start of January.

The limited-edition Beetle comes in black, and adds a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels and 'Fender' badging on the front wings.

The biggest changes are to the interior, though, with the dashboard housing a panel of bright Fender guitar-inspired 'Sunburst' wood. Appropriately, it also comes with an upgraded 400-watt Fender sound system, complete with a boot-mounted subwoofer and illuminated front-speaker mountings.

The Beetle Fender also comes with dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors and cloth seats with leather-look bolsters.

Volkswagen Beetle review

Just one engine option is offered – the 2.0-litre TDI 140 – while there is the choice of either the six-speed manual or the semi-automatic DSG gearbox.

Order books open on January 2, and the Beetle Fender costs £23,015 for the manual, and £24,610 for the DSG version.
