Volvo has dropped its prices on its S40 and S80 saloons and its V50 estate. The price cuts are effective from today.
S40
Volvo has cut its prices by almost £2000 on some models of its upmarket small family car. The entry level 1.6 S is now £13,750 – a drop of £1980. Our favourite 1.8 S is now £610 cheaper at £15,995.
The price cuts mean the gap between S and SE is now £1500 and for this year SE models come with an upgraded stereo and powered driver's seat.
V50
The 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines from the saloon are now available in the V50 estate. That means an entry-level 1.6 S costs £15,995. The previous entry model, the 1.8 has dropped £610 in price, while our favourite V50, the 2.0D S is now £495 cheaper than before at £19,145.
S80
Volvo has ditched the entry-level S trim from it's executive car and cut up to £1500 off the rest of the range. The cheapest S80 is now the 2.5T SE at £24,995.
